Test torso for functional and performance testing of respiratory protection systems
The e-breathe respiratory protection test torso is used in combination with a test head – either the EN standard Sheffield head or an ISO test head in sizes S, SW, M, LN and L. This allows respiratory protection systems with an air source and breathing connection to be tested under realistic wearing conditions, for example SCBAs with a full face mask or blower filter devices with a bonnet.
The e-breathe respiratory protection test torso enables the air source to be mounted directly on the body and the breathing connection to be securely connected to the test head. It can be connected to ventilators or lung simulators via standardised interfaces – for reproducible and practical test conditions.

Connections & sensors
- Direct connection to the test probe via measuring connections in the mouth and trachea area (CO₂ and pressure measurement)
- EN 148-1 Round thread connection at the front and rear for connection to test devices
Material & construction
- Robust, modular design consisting of five segments, tightly screwed together and easy to dismantle for maintenance or extensions
- Front and back made of durable plastic
- Front opening for quick access to hoses and valves
- Stable base, designed for heavy breathing apparatus
- Secure attachment of backpack harnesses and SCBAs without slipping
Optional head movement
- Automated head module, that simulates turning movements of the head to the right and left
- Enables two of the five exercises to be carried out as part of the leakage tests in accordance with ISO 16900-1 / EN 13274-1
Leakage & tightness tests
- Fully sealed designs
- Suitable for tests in leakage chambers to determine inward leakage and to determine the protection class of respiratory protection systems
